Athletic Training at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is committed to offering students a wide variety of educational experiences while preparing them for an evolving field. Athletic training professionals are trained to manage the overall health care of interscholastic, intercollegiate, professional and recreational athletes.

Pre-Athletic Training

A program completed alongside a bachelor's degree for students seeking dual healthcare provider credentials such as Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and more.

3+2 Athletic Training

A 5-year, dual-degree experience for students who want to accelerate undergraduate and graduate clinical education.

Master of Athletic Training

A traditional 2 year master's degree sequence for students who already hold a bachelor's degree.

The 2025 Cohort Application is opening on July 1, 2024, and closing on April (3+2 AT student) or May 1 (post-bachelor student), 2025.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney Master of Athletic Training (MAT) is an accredited Professional-Level clinical Master’s degree program. The program consists of 45 credit hours of didactic and clinical experiential learning

The Athletic Training Program enjoys an “Active – in good standing” status with the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training (CAATE).

Athletic Training Facilities

Athletic Training is part of the Kinesiology and Sports Sciences Department and is located in Cushing Coliseum. bet36365体育's facilities include an Athletic Training Lab, UNMC Gross Anatomy Lab and bet36365体育 Sports Medicine. The Athletic Training Lab was designed by the Athletic Training faculty to enhance didactic academic and clinical learning. The Lab is equipped with traditional treatment tables, therapeutic modalities, medical supplies, rehabilitation equipment, and clinical research equipment to practice clinical skills prior to actual patient care.
