Kearney Bound Scholars
Kearney Bound prepares first-generation and income eligible students from North Platte High School, Lexington High School, Kearney High School, and Kearney Catholic High School to achieve excellence through knowledge, character, and commitment. This is achieved through academic counseling and support, leadership, personal development, and financial assistance to attend the University of Nebraska Kearney. Students are selected at the end of their 9th grade year and supported through college graduation.

KB Scholars will demonstrate motivation to participate and fulfill the obligations set by their respective high school, the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Kearney Bound.
Kearney Bound Program lands Bryan Escobar IT position
The Kearney Bound program changed Bryan Escobar’s life. The University of Nebraska at Kearney senior grew up in Lexington, where his parents worked at the Tyson meatpacking plant. They made enough money to get by, but paying for a university education would have been a stretch.
"When you don’t know what to do or where to go in college, your mentor or your peers in Kearney Bound have the answer for you or know where to direct you if they don’t have the answer."
