Kearney Bound Scholars

Kearney Bound prepares first-generation and income eligible students from North Platte High School, Lexington High School, Kearney High School, and Kearney Catholic High School to achieve excellence through knowledge, character, and commitment. This is achieved through academic counseling and support, leadership, personal development, and financial assistance to attend the University of Nebraska Kearney. Students are selected at the end of their 9th grade year and supported through college graduation.

The Kearney Bound program changed Bryan Escobar’s life. The University of Nebraska at Kearney senior grew up in Lexington, where his parents worked at the Tyson meatpacking plant. They made enough money to get by, but paying for a university education would have been a stretch. Read Bryan's Story
